The single-mode fiber collimator integrates a fiber pigtail and a focusing lens through precise alignment. This design enables it to convert the output from the fiber into a parallel Gaussian beam or couple external parallel light into the fiber with high efficiency. Additionally, it can function independently to create a desired spot size at a specific location by adjusting the divergence angle. Collimators are widely used in scenarios requiring precise beam shaping, such as spectroscopy, interferometry, and optical testing systems. Their adaptability and high precision make them an essential component for advanced photonics setups.
Fiber collimators are categorized into fixed-focus types for set working distances and adjustable-focus types for variable ranges.
